Joel Mabus'
Folk Alliance Page
The North American Folk Music And Dance Alliance,
better known as simply The Folk Alliance,
has been active since its inception in 1989 in
furthering the cause of folk music in the US & Canada.
I am a charter and life member. I also write for the
Folk Alliance newsletter. In its early phase I wrote
a column on the Midwest region, and helped to
organize the Midwest regional chapter (FARM).
Since 1996 I have been
writing a column on
performers issues. While the newsletters in entirety
have not been archived online, my columns are saved here
at my website. A bit more focused and polite than
my weblog at Joel Speaks, the columns have a
similar
feel (and sometimes borrow ideas) from my online journal.
Often the issues addressed in the Performers Column revolve
around practical advice or other folk music business concerns.
