UPCOMING:

2017

NOV 19 SUN TRAVERSE CITY  MI  4pm concert
Returning again to the historic Sleder's Family Tavern for a concert on their Victorian-style  "porch" (dining area with marvelous windows and fireplace). My old friend Seamus Shinners of Connemara Concerts is producing the show.  It is a warm friendly place for an intimate show.  Consider coming for dinner too -- great food and spirits.  I will be doing a seasonal-flavored show this Sunday before Thanksgiving, with some songs of the season, and selections from my most recent recordings, along with selections from my earlier days.

An old Bohemian pub built by actual Bohemians in 1882.  That's 135 years!  Is Sleder's really the oldest restaurant in Michigan? Read the history here: http://sleders.com/history/

4 p.m concert at Sleder's Family Tavern located at 717 Randolph Street in Traverse City. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Tickets are available at Sleder's, Oryana Food Cooperative or Brilliant Books in Traverse City. For tickets or more info call Sleder's: 231-947-9213

DEC 3 SUN  KALAMAZOO MI concert 3-5PM
A Very Merry Christmas with Joel Mabus
Sunday afternoon 3-5PM  -- a special Christmas show for Transformations Spirituality Center, at the beautiful & historic Sister's of St Joseph chapel at Nazareth Campus on Gull Road. I did a Christmas show there last year, and we had such a good time, we are doing it again.  The fate of the chapel has been in the news of late, but the grand old edifice is still as marvelous as ever, and a very special space for a concert like this -- a real treasure.  If you have never been inside, don't miss this opportunity!

Advance registration is advised, but there will be tickets at the door, too, as space admits. There is plenty of parking.
$15 advance / $18 at door  For advance registration and further info click here:

FEB  3  SAT EAST LANSING  MI
Mid Winter Singing Festival
Hannah Community Center, 819 Abbott Rd East Lansing. details at http://www.singingfestival.com/

This year once again the Singing Festival shares the weekend with the new East Lansing Folk Festival
The big community sing is on Saturday night with song leaders: Robert Jones, May Erlewine, Mark Dvorak, Frank Youngman, Matt Watroba, and myself. Should be a grand night of singing.

On Friday the same stage will feature the festival performances of the folk legend Tom Paxton with Cathy Fink & Marcy Marxer, and Bruce Molsky's Mountain Drifters.  Wow!

Also on Saturday, a free kids show with Cathy & Marcy in the morning and lots of workshops in the afternoon.
Friday an Saturday events are all separately ticketed as I understand. See the website above.
