The moment: December 05, 2007 Rorate Ceoli Desuper A traditional Scottish Advent hymn. I have recorded this tune twice, once for my cd, Firelake, and once again for my Christmas album, How Like The Holly. This is the version from Holly. Yes, it is Latin, and roughly, it is pronounced Ro-RAH-tay CHAY-lee DAY-soo-PAIR. And I have been informed that my "Ceoli" should be spelled coeli or caeli. In any spelling it is a sweet melody. It means, roughly, "Drop down from heavens, sweet dew." I play it instrumentally, but learned it from the a cappella singing of Jean Redpath.
