Download of the Moment

You've heard of the download of the day -- or of the week, month, etc.

Here is my free download of the moment.

This is here now, but may be gone tomorrow, or next month. No guarantees.

As stated on my MP3 page that probably got you here, this is a copyrighted song. You can download this for your own personal use, but you do NOT have my permission to sell it, distribute it, or post it to another website.

The moment: December 05, 2007

Rorate Ceoli Desuper  A traditional Scottish Advent hymn.  I have recorded this tune twice, once for my cd, Firelake, and once again for my Christmas album, How Like The Holly.  This is the version from Holly.

Yes, it is Latin, and roughly, it is pronounced Ro-RAH-tay  CHAY-lee DAY-soo-PAIR.  And I have been informed that my "Ceoli" should be spelled coeli or caeli.  In any spelling it is a sweet melody.  It means, roughly, "Drop down from heavens, sweet dew." I play it instrumentally, but learned it from the a cappella singing of Jean Redpath.
