Lonesome Road
Suite for solo guitar & voice:
Songs of The Lost Generation 1924-1928

Genres:  Americana, Acoustic Jazz, Country Blues, Folk

Lonesome Road is a re-thinking and a revival of the rich popular music of a century ago - the music of the Lost Generation in the late 1920's. Not "roaring 20s" razzmatazz, but rather a suite of fluid acoustic guitar with a friendly baritone voice in an intimate space.

On a carpet-ride of fingerstyle guitar, the songs lead you from Broadway shows to Texas dance halls. Argentine cafés to Mississippi railroads. Highbrow and lowbrow. George Gershwin to Jimmie Rodgers. Recorded with no dubbing or digital tricks, it's an up-close & intimate session with a mature singer and his music. One voice, and one guitar, in conversation.

Early review from a public radio host:

"Joel, this is a gorgeous album. And an important one given the songs you've selected and presented. After 40-some years at this, I sometimes (well, often) wonder if I can still be charmed, enchanted, and filled with joy by an album. You've done it again!"
LARRY BERGER, host of The Saturday Light Brigade, WRCT Pittsburgh and national radio syndication & podcast.
