The tanned, clean-shaven young fellow on the cover may look like a younger brother to me now, but in the last days of the Reagan administration it was my face. I had just recorded a concert of newly written songs and was ready to roll them out into the wider world. Inside is a booklet with some reflections from the 21st century on this concert of some 15 years past. On the disc is the music just as it was -- one cold night in East Lansing, Michigan, January 15, 1988 at The Ten Pound Fiddle with 400 witnesses in attendance. I had my Martin D-21 guitar and my old Vega banjo and a bag full of new songs. And that's the naked truth.
Voted one of the
top 10 folk albums of the year
by both Boston's WUMB
and Harvard's radio, WHRB
